George Court, a challenging condo conversion, took a former brick and concrete meat plant
with an extensive refrigeration system and transformed the complex into residential loft style
homes. Achieving success with this intricate project required several construction phases.
Partial selective demolition of an existing building and restoration of the remainder was the
most ambitious part of the construction. Excavating the basement for retrofit garage parking
and opening a plaza style courtyard created striking features of George Court. Concrete cast
in place mixed with steel frame and masonry construction allowed the architect and engineers
to integrate an old and new building into an appealing architectural landmark.
